In 2022, I was invited by my dear friend Albano Homem de Melo to celebrate the wedding of his daughter Ana and Paulius at the picturesque Quinta da Boavista de Cima, a family estate with a stunning view of the Douro River. This project was a tribute to the traditions and love that unite this family.

The central symbol of the event is a heart, inspired by the traditional Douro embroidery, reflecting the wedding's location. This heart not only symbolized the love between the couple but also celebrated their roots. The heart is surrounded by olive leaves, which have a special meaning for the Homem de Melo family. The blue pattern, characteristic of the main house of the estate, is also present, reinforcing the identity of the location.

The theme of the wedding revolved around the various trees of the estate. Each tree – from the linden to the poplar, including the ash, cherry, and walnut trees – was illustrated and corresponded to a table where the guests would be seated. These illustrations were arranged in a pattern embroidered with royal blue thread on a linen cloth, which served as a map and central point of the celebration. The invitations, menu, and event decoration were carefully aligned with this theme. Small hearts embroidered in the pattern celebrated love and punctuated the design with a sense of unity and joy.
